This image was originally published as offset lithographs.
Tony Max is proud to announce that as of August, 2007, the remaining prints in the edition are now available only as an giclées, so that the remaining prints in the edition will be of higher quality than the original offset lithograph edition.
Max made this switch because he cares about the quality of his art.
He is having the remaining, unsold prints expensively and labouriously reprinted as giclées
– even though it's less profitable to do so.
The remaining unsold offset lithograph prints that have been supplanted are no longer available.
Giclée printing is a modern technology that wasn't available when Max had his offset lighographs printed, so he's taking advantage of the new technology to give art collectors higher quality prints. |
