| One of Max's Images is Reproduced in Widely Disseminated Coupon Book |
||
| One of Tony Max's images has been reproduced in a coupon book this summer. The image was reproduced in full colour in a coupon book advertisement for Osterson's Framing and Art – a North Vancouver art gallery and frame shop. The coupon book is being widely distributed by ad mail in batches this summer to addresses on Vancouver's North Shore via the Post Office. Osterson's Framing and Art had contacted the artist to ask permission to use the "Mosquito Creek" image in its ad, and the artist consented. Max's art is among the most featured art on exhibit at Osterson's. |

| Max Turns Down Request to Jury | ||
| Tony Max recently turned down an offer to act as a juror in an international art exhibition, or to take on the role of sole Canadian artist exhibiting art in that exhibition. The artist was invited by the founder of The Common Ground Partnership, an international touring exhibition featuring art focused on theme of environmental sustainability and pollution prevention. I was approached by the founder, Larry Richard, to consider being the sole artist to represent Canada in the “Celebrated Artist Series” that the organization will publish. According to the founder, the artist selected will receive a lot of internationally focused attention and press both for this one piece, for his body of work in general, and for his support in raising awareness about sustainability issues. Although Max lauds the organization's goals of promoting environmental awareness, he turned down the offers because of time constraints, and because signing the agreement would have meant ceding licensing rights to the organization. According to the rules of the international exhibition, at least one of Max's images would have been published as open edition prints under the auspices of the organization, making a conflict of interest for the artist to publish limited editions of the same image(s). |

Tony Max has licensed his "Evening
Departure" image to be used in a cruise
ship advertisement. In May of 2006, a detail of the image appeared in colour as the feature image on the front panel of a flyer for the cruise ship industry. The flyer, advertising cruise ship travel, was distributed to approximately 11,000 homes in West and North Vancouver that have views of Burrard Inlet and the cruise ships that ply it. The travel agency is Roseway Travel of West Vancouver. |

Max also has the honour of being the only artist who has limited edition prints exhibited at the fashionable Kimprints 41 Powell Street in downtown Vancouver). He is one of only two artists with limited edition prints exhibited at Prints Charming Framing (2048 West 4th Avenue in Vancouver). Both of those galleries have substantial collections of Tony Max's artwork. |
